Kan Kick - Beautiful: Opus Of Love Deeper Than Flesh

Kan Kick is one of those producers that most people have never heard and yet are familiar with the beats. Like J.Dilla and Hi-Tek for example, these producers create the backbone of hip-hop, and in essence keeps it from hitting bottom. It's true that mainstream radio is full of garbage, but at least their are producers that makes it to tolerable. I know it's hard to get everyone to open their mind to explore other ports of music, however for those who are lucky enough, this lp will be a great complement to an ever expanding music library.

about:
Kan Kick is an Oxnard, CA., native who got his start in the science of hip-hop beat making in 1988, as a freshman in high school when he hooked up with Madlib who was a sophomore at the time. Kan Kick later joined the Lootpack and became the 4th member along with Madlib, Wild Child, and DJ Romes. While a member of the Lootpack, Kan Kick and Madlib produced "Mary Jane" for the Alkaholiks' first album.

Kan Kick later split from the Lootpack and formed the Funk Farm, which also included DJ Babu (Dilated/Beat Junkies). One of Kan Kick's early productions was the b-side to Babu's "Comprehension" mixtape. In addition, Kan Kick has produced projects with Declaime, Wild Child and has a couple solo albums under his belt.

The Kan Kick sound is dusty, crunchy and blunted, and just the right tempo to get the proper head nod going. After working on tracks for so many years, Kan Kick is neck deep in material waiting to be unleashed on the world and weak beat makers better beware.

Word of Advice

We don't upload any of the links in this blog because, their are too many floating around anyway, and it's a waste of time. Some do it for points, while some do it for money. Well we don't do it that way here, as long as we can share and let you know what's cracking with those albums we're happy. These guys don't get a lot of exposure, and for damn sure some of them will never graze the mainstream air wave. By the way not sure if anyone actually read this stuff, but if you made it this far, The Beat Dangler thanks you.
